The Crux is the second of three days of extreme excitement, as solo racers and teams of two to four challenge the devious minds of the course designers and some of the most challenging terrain anywhere!

Part of the “Crux and the Crucible” three-day stage race, racers can choose to enter one, two or all three days of this amazing race. You'll spend several exciting hours kayaking, biking, running, navigating their way over, around and through the north Idaho lakes and mountains.

Though the details are a closely held secret, here are a hints:

> Approximately 30 challenging miles of biking.
 ~ Amazing, world class singletrack that descends 3000 feet in 8 miles! 
 ~ Fire trail, pavement, forest service roads, dirt… a little bit of everything.
 ~ Substantial hills (no, we’re not kidding!)
> 5—10 miles on foot:
 ~ Hill climbing and descending: Trekking poles recommended!
 ~ Running/Trekking
 ~ Orienteering: There will be a timed orienteering phase.
> Kayaking:
 ~ Approximately 7 miles of lake kayaking. It should be nice and warm and calm, but it could be a “challenge” as well...  typhoons are not unheard of in June!
> Wet obstacles. Yes. There will be some fun surprises. Bring a dry bag, a towel, and you might want some extra bike shorts!
> There will also be at least one “intellectual” challenge, as well as possibly a surprise fitness or skills test... hmmm... what could it be?

> The Crux will also feature at least one challenge that will be unique in the world of AR, and TONS of fun!
